The mpt Note Speller App provides an introduction to the basic building blocks of Music Notation: Note Identification and the Grand Staff.

By using this App, you will learn about the basic terms used in musical notation and will master the ability to name and locate all the notes on the Treble and Bass Clefs of the Grand Staff. Once you have the basics down, the App provides a Genius mode where you can test your skills with ledger lines, those lines above and below the staff that expand the musical range. By spending just a few minutes a day with the mpt Note Speller App, you will quickly improve your ability to read music.

mpt Note Speller combines a tutorial with a series of exercises that test your understanding of the material. To get the most out of the App, you should first go through the tutorial. Once you complete the tutorial, you are ready to tackle the exercises. Initially, the exercises will be presented at a Beginner level. However, as your expertise grows the application grows with you, providing a Genius level that tests your knowledge of ledger lines. Or if you think you are already an expert and just need some additional fine tuning of your skills, feel free to start off at the Genius level. Its all up to you.
